David Saulibio
2005
David Saulibio is a student in the architectural, engineering and CAD technologies program at Hawaii Community College. He has demonstrated a commitment to vocational and technical education through his many activities.
As vice-president of the Forest TEAM student club, Saulibio involved students in volunteer field work restoring native forests. He also conducted surveys of invasive species in Hawaii using the Global Positioning System.
Saulibio is well respected by his peers and instructors. One instructor commented, "David is able to comprehend the shaping of man’s architectural environments based on the complexities of sociological, cultural and psychological aspects of human and animal nature."
The Masaki and Momoe Kunimoto Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Vocational Education rewards outstanding achievement and significant contribution to vocational and technical education by a community college faculty member or student.
The award was established by family members to honor the namesakes’ role in development of the food industry in Hawaii.
