THE COMPLETION OF CARE
The Ethics of Care has emphasized the importance of caring intentions (empathy), caring relationships, and the labor of care. But another important feature is less discussed. As Noddings put it, care needs to be “completed in the otherâ€. By looking at care from its reception, we can better understand the normativity of care, the role of moral luck, and what, if any obligation is placed on the receiver of care.
