Sarah Marusek is the program chair for the Administration of Justice program and an assistant professor of political science at 51²è¹Ý Hilo.
Marusek sets high standards for her students and herself, and she possesses an outstanding ability to challenge students to grow intellectually. Her ability to explore and discuss “hot” legal topics are very popular.
A student notes that “her performance as a teacher empowers students to think outside the box, defend independent thought, expand horizons and develop a love of learning.”
The Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching recognizes dedication and demonstrated excellence as teachers of undergraduate students. It was established as a memorial to the late Frances Davis, who taught mathematics at Leeward Community College and 51²è¹Ý Manoa for 19 years.
