Advocacy for Social Justice Talk Story Series--- Explore organized efforts and mechanisms for social change--- "Peaceful Leadership" with Jenni Prisk, and moderated by José Barzola --- Session: --- Our world is facing considerable global discontent. Much of it is caused by lack of effective leadership and communication on platforms where leaders are driven by power instead of peace. We are all born with a brain and a heart – let’s maximize the potential of all people to utilize these parts of us that can lead to peace in our global communities through conflict resolution, understanding and acceptance. --- About Jenni Prisk: --- Jenni Prisk founded a nonprofit organization three weeks after September 11, 2001 in the United States, to promote peace at negotiation tables; she founded the Peace Committee at her Rotary Club in San Diego, California. She is a public speaking coach, motivational speaker and communications specialist. Jenni is the author of the book Stand in Your Spotlight, An Ode to Living Fully which is focused on our ability to do good while being our best. She founded iVOW (www.voicesofwomen.org) a podcast that highlights global women peacemakers. iVOW tells the stories of women in our global communities and paints verbal portraits of their experiences. These women are activists, peacemakers, politicians, and members of marginalized populations. We’re creating an accessible and important platform for their voices, to educate, empower and enlighten all of us.
