Let us celebrate a new Hawaiian language play, "NÄ Kau a Hi‘iaka," that is being directed by Kau‘i Kaina, who will be the first MFA to graduate from the Hawaiian Theatre & Playwriting program under Professor Haili‘Åpua Baker in the Department of Theatre & Dance.
Every single cast member is either a past/current Hawaiian language student at either 51 MÄnoa or BYU Hawai‘i and/or also a former Hawaiian language immersion student. Here we see the fruits of our collective labor to help Hawaiian not only survive but also thrive once again!
