51 MÄnoa - A Campus Arboretum: Walking Tour
May 6, 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Start: Sinclair Library front entrance
The University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa campus arboretum recently received international accreditation. The mission of our Campus Arboretum is to, “Develop the landscape potential of unique woody flora of the tropics on the 51M campus by serving as a living laboratory for education and research, encouraging use by the broader community, and supporting service activities of the University of Hawai‘i.†51M boasts more than 500 different species of plants! Join this campus stroll to learn about the campus plants and cultural landscape including historical buildings and associated art work. Hear from an emeritus professor of Tropical Plant & Soil Sciences, the campus Landscape Architect, and a community specialist and retired art professor, all in the context of the new designation as an arboretum and dual celebration for Jane's Walk and Public Gardens Day!
