A doctoral candidate in educational psychology at Manoa, Tasha Wyatt says her job as an educator is to impart not just her academic knowledge, but also her wisdom on how to bridge her students’ professional and personal lives.
Wyatt has taught several classes at Manoa, including a course in psychological foundations, a required course for pre-service teachers. Her students consistently give her glowing evaluations. One comments, "Tasha’s class is one of the best I’ve had at 51²è¹Ý. I have never experienced a teacher who has made such a big impact on my learning."
The Frances Davis Award for Undergraduate Teaching recognizes dedication and demonstrated excellence as teachers of undergraduate students. It was established as a memorial to the late Frances Davis, who taught mathematics at Leeward Community College and 51²è¹Ý Manoa for 19 years.
